Local Employment Dynamics (LED) is a partnership between the Illinois Department of Employment Security and the U.S. Census Bureau to develop information about local workforce and labor market conditions. This information is built from sources that cover more than 90% of total wage and salary civilian jobs, primarily state and federal administrative records. Exclusions to this coverage include federal government workers, agricultural workers, domestic workers, and the self-employed. The identities of individuals and businesses are protected against disclosure in accord with strict state and federal requirements.

OnTheMap
http://lmi.ides.state.il.us/led/on_the_map/default.htm

OnTheMap is a web-based mapping and reporting application that shows where workers are employed and where they live. It enables creation, viewing, printing and downloading of workforce related maps, profiles, and underlying data. OnTheMap provides reports of age, earnings, and industry distributions. It is a unique resource for mapping the travel patterns of workers and identifying workforce characteristics of areas as small as a Census Block Group.

The capabilities of OnTheMap are continuously enhanced; experimental QWI measures are now included on work area profile reports. Experimental data should be used with caution.

Monitor settings at high resolution allow the application to show a greater mapped area. OnTheMap is best viewed at a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher.
